Characteristics

The Japanese white-eye’s back is yellow-green and the bird has an apparent white eye-ring around the eye. Its calls sounds exactly like the sound of flutes, which earns it the name of “tshenn-thî-á” in Taiwanese.
Habits: Flocks of Japanese white-eyes are often seen on tree branches and emerge in flats and low-altitude forests.
Resident/Common; Body length: 11 cm
Birdwatching period: year round
